Being a kid again wasn't exactly Karen's idea of a good time, but it was better than someone else in her body and vice versa. Plus, having a real Halloween theme on the island (even if it was all magic) was enough to have her in a good mood

Nick squirmed away from Karen, trying to get out of the way of the hair buns. "No way," he said, covering his head with his hands. "No, no way, I am not being Princess Leia." He wanted to be something way cooler than a pretend princess. Like a ninja or a cowboy or something. Or a ninja cowboy.

"Fine," Karen said, with the kind of sigh only a long-suffering eight year old could manage. She put the hair buns on her own head and looked back in the box. "It's still all Leia stuff - ooh, a lightsaber!"

Karen shoved a few of the kinda ugly metal bikinis aside and pulled out the lightsaber she'd seen. It was plastic, sure, but it went with the costume.

Nick laughed, peering into the box with Karen. "Now that's what I'm talking about," he said, digging in the box too. Hopefully he'd find something other than a Princess Leia dress or the stupid metal bikini in there to wear, because neither of those things went with lightsabers at all.

Karen moved back a little so she wouldn't be poking Nick's eye out or something when she tested the lightsaber. The part of her brain that was still mostly adult said it was stupid to be so entertained by a plastic lightsaber, but it shut up quickly enough. "Oh my god, it's purple!"
