TM #173 - Write a fan letter.

Apr 12, 2007 13:46

((A letter written a few weeks prior to the Cylons' destruction of the Twelve Colonies))

To Whom It May Concern:

I'm not sure who it is that should be getting this letter, so I'm sending it to your general office address in the hopes it lands in the right hands.

My name is Lt. Karl Agathon, and I'd like to extend my thanks, along with the thanks of my friends, to the entire Caprica Buccaneers organization and to a few of your employees in particular.

A month ago, while my friends and I were on shore leave on Caprica, we found ourselves with a desire to watch one of the best teams in Pyramid history play the game. Of course, as this was a match against the Picon Panthers, there was no way that we late arrivals were ever going to get seats in the stadium twenty minutes before the first whistle, not even if there was a single scalper's ticket available. And even though there would be another game the next day, we were all on 24-hour passes.

Our rescue came in the form of a gentleman who introduced himself as the stadium's facilities manager, a very friendly man by the name of Simon. We told him our story and before we knew it, not only were we watching the game, we were watching it from a luxury skybox like a pack of high-rollers. Telling us that it was his honor to do a favor to, as he put it, "the brave young Colonial soldiers who put their lives on the line every day for me", he picked up the tab on all of our refreshments.

It was one of the most memorable days of my life, if only for the last second over-the-shoulder buzzer-beater that Samuel T. Anders let off to win the game.

So thank you, everyone who helped us out, and the most thanks to Simon, for looking out for a bunch of desperate nuggets with bad timing. The C-Bucs really do rule.

Thanks,
Lt. Karl C. Agathon.
