Well if your husband suddenly turned out to be a Dark Lord of the Sith, would you be entirely happy to keep living? And the strangling's probably counted as domestic abuse.
When Vader mentions it to Padme she says no and then Obi-Wan comes out to kick arse, which was probably a blow to the ol' self-esteem. And when he asks Luke the Emperor actually finds out about it through the Force (this is in Shadows of the Empire IIRC).
If Qui-Gon can work it out, then Anakin would be able to work it out also, I would think. Either that or Qui-Gon shows him how to when he dies and becomes one with the Force, which is also possible.
How d'you mean, kids?
P.S. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan both are capitalised with hyphens. Palpatine has two a's, not two e's.
Yeah, but Padmé knew that Obi-Wan would care for them if she wasn't there, and besides, would you want to be reminded of a Sith Lord you illegally married every time you looked at your kids?
Padme - I thought the reaosn of her dying because she lost the will to live was just not convincing. I expected her to die of the choke hold and nothing more.
