January:
The divorce becomes legally final.
I move back to Boston after ten years in upstate New York.
I begin a new job.
February:
I see Mighty Purple in Boston.
I begin a somewhat turbulent relationship that ends well, but quickly.
One of my lifelong friends has surgery to finally end her medical problems with great success.
March:
I take the CTS exam for the first time. It wins.
I am pleased by the ration of comic book movies that are announced.
Ric Flair, one of the best showmen of my favorite form of entertainment, officially (and actually) retires.
April:
darth_qonfused and
kinnerc inform me that my basement sump pump has died and find a way to save me from a flood.
I have minor surgery on both feet.
For the first time since my return, I party with the Boston Kappas.
May:
My car finally dies. I replace it with a 2005 Honda Civic LX Special Edition.
I go to Connecticut to see the Gin Blossoms in concert and have an amazing time.
The deal on my house falls through for the second time.
I go to MS Night at the Pops, where I am three rows away from John Williams.
I find out, courtesy of
ruffian_wind, that Jaxon is doing well and is happy.
June:
One of my idols, Mr. George Carlin, dies.
I begin talking, albeit online, to a very interesting young woman.
July:
My Grandmother's unveiling occurs in DC. While there, I have more online conversations with a certain young woman who begins to intrigue me more and more.
I win two tickets to an advanced screening of The Dark Knight in IMAX. It takes me a while to decide whether or not this is a hoax.
I have my first date with the aforementioned young woman. As I drop her off, I know already that I want to see her again.
I take the CTS exam for the second time. I win and earn my certification.

August:
I have my third date with the aforementioned young woman...and it becomes one of the best nights of my life.
I went to NYC just for fun.
It is discovered that the magic formula is "n+1".
I get to spend the end of the month on the Cape being part of a romantic birthday.
I manage to predict the future: "I'm feeling the urge to stop and think about how much my life has changed since this time last year. All I can say is...Wow. More on that some other time...Like, probably, a meme in December."
September:
I am the happiest I've been in some time.
I get to see and hear Michelle work, professionally, for the first time.
I complete the first course to obtain a CTS-I designation.
October:
I am happier in both my professional and personal life than I have been in some time.
I return to I-Town this weekend to work for C-Q. Michelle joins me after a day apart.
Guns N' Roses announces that Chinese Democracy will be released. I do not continue to hold my breath.
November:
The house deal falls through again.
I proudly participate in, what will probably be, the most historic election of my lifetime. My Grandmothers would have been proud.
Proposition 8 passes in California, which causes me deep sadness.
December:
I am elected to a Board of Directors, albeit in a non-voting capacity.
The house deal goes through. I sell it off and move my things out. in a related note, Michelle and I decide to officially move in together.
I turn 29 tomorrow.
On to 2009!
