Glad to see that the concept of traveling without taking to the skies is gaining in popularity. Travel without suffering the indignities and exasperations of airports _is_ good, and it just got better as InterRail is no longer limited to under 26s now.
Consequently we're thinking of doing a week's trip to Brugge, then on the new TGV line to Mulhouse, to travel around in France and Switzerland, for a bargain €249 for the week (well, and £100 for the Eurostar, and some cheap hotel costs). Also a more vague plan for next year's winter holiday: a 10 day InterRail pass would only cost €359, and we're thinking of going through Germany, to Vienna, back to the Tyrol to ski, then south to Venice, then back to the UK. That's a lot of miles (sorry, kilometers) for the money! :-)
