Hm, I gave the songs on your pure volume account a listen. They're good, especially seeing as you're only fourteen, and I am interested in seeing where you go with this. But you could use a little work on your singing (just practice a lot and maybe get vocal lessons or join chorus or some such). And also it'd be pretty cool if you added some more instruments in (and possibly backing vocals).
Definitely adding this journal though because, like I said, I'm interested in seeing where you go with this. And if I have nothing better to do (which is more likely than not), maybe I'll head over to that show of yours. It's pretty damn cool that you got a show; wish I could get a show . . . but, then again, I get too nervous when there are people listening so that's probably for the best.
all of the songs, except the second version of tired of the way you're feeling were recorded like 6 months ago.
it would be awesome if you came out to the shows... and you'd have to say hey. i'm not that nervous now, but i can bet you that i won't be able to sleep a week before the show, haha.
Oh, okay, I'd definitely be interested in hearing some more recent songs. I'm sure your singing has improved . . . I do a bit of singing myself and when I listen to the first few songs I recorded . . . oh, it's horrendous. But now my voice is just about approaching semi-decent. So practice does work wonders. I'm glad you weren't offended or any such by my suggesting you work on your voice because some people do get offended when you're just trying to be helpful and that's kind of irritating because when you're making music and putting it out for people to hear, you have to accept some criticism.
If I do make it out to the show, I'll probably not talk to you or any such. I'm kind of stupidly shy like that. Buttttt, regardless, I think it'd be pretty cool to see you play and all. And, then, if you get superfamous, I can say, "I was at his first show ever!!!!"
no, i know i have to take some critiscism, and i don't mind it. i'm sure your voice isn't too bad. i think i just started signing under my breath and then began singing louder as i wrote more haha.
i hope you can make it to the show... i would really like to talk to you, and then you could say that you went to my first show ever AND talked to me at my first show ever!
I'm with her (see: above comment) on the thing about your singing and your lyrics. I love your lyrics, though. You've definitely tapped into the Conor Oberst spirit and that scares me a little.
If I lived anywhere near Maryland/DC anymore, I'd most definitely stop by. Sadly, I moved away ten years ago and we never came back. Here's to hoping everything goes well.
