soco is a fun cover. i covered it once, the first time i ever tried recording anything, just screwing around... a little less than a year after i started playing guitar.
yeah, i see what you mean. most people coming out to your show would never know "mint car," and maybe a handful would know "leaving on a jet plane." "soco" or "hear you me" are easily your best bets. "soco" is such a feel good tune, and allows you and the crowd to get into the song a little bit more. i recommend it.
thanks for the compliment. the ending was funny, i didnt want to just fade out, but i obviously didnt have any kind of technology to insert the FX of a needle scraping across a vinyl, so i just ended up doing a quick, erratic pick scrape at the end. it came out really well.
yeah, i've been practicing all day, actually... i have to fill up a 45 minute set, and i'm doing 4 cover songs which are soco amaretto lime, mint car, good riddance (green day), and hungry for a holiday (bright eyes). i'm not sure how many "scene" kids are going to be at the show, haha, so i'm hoping those are some good songs for both.
