Yesterday we had a funeral for our dear gerbil, Schuyler. When Terry found her and told the kids, there were tears shed....and then MORE tears were shed for Snowball who can't possibly live without her friend and so will most certainly be dying soon, too. I remember the smelly gerbil cage days very well. And it was dear old mom that always cleaned the cage. If you really want a clean cage, you have to do it yourself!

Dad is the one that voted for the gerbils, so he got the job of cleaning the cage. It hasn't been cleaned as often as I would like, but I'm not complaining TOO loudly because I'm NOT doing it. This was made clear from the beginning! I took care of the puppy he wanted WAY more than planned (probably because Lucy made so much more noise!), but not the gerbils, sorry. Poor gerbils.
