Hi, I found your layout and am using it with the addition of a header. I had no problems with the header but I have the curious problem of having a blacked in portion of my journal. When I look at my main (recent entries) page it seems to cover up the link to "leave a comment" on my first post. I don't know quite what the issue is or how to fix it.

Hi. :) I don't seem to see any problems with the layout. When I visited the “recent entries” page of your journal, I don't see the “leave a comment” link to be covered up by anything. I took a screenshot of it.

Or maybe I have a different interpretation of ‘blacked’?

In the course of going over the code to see if I missed something I did realise that I did input the header code incorrectly. I never even noticed that part so I had hoped that fixing that would fix the other item. It didn't. It may just be something that my computer is doing differently. Or maybe it's my browser. Thank you for your help though.

Edit It is my browser! How odd. I use Firefox and it did update itself over the weekend. Here's my screencap. I tried viewing my journal in Internet Explorer and that black portion wasn't there.

I thought you really meant your header to be like that. I thought it was creative. :)

It's good to know that you've already found the root of the problem. It is not your computer. I viewed the layout on Firefox and the same thing happened as well. If this is the case, then it really is Firefox's problem. Since the black portions can't be seen on other browsers, then I guess it really is. I tried viewing a community with a similar layout (with a header image installed as well), but there are no black portions. If I am correct, then I assume this only happens in your journal. I used the “inspect element” command, but there are no codes corresponding to the black portions in the page. Since it can only be seen visually, perhaps it really is the browser's problem.

I also noticed something: when the custom fonts don't load, the black portions do not appear. If this is the case, maybe it's related to the fonts loading...? Either way, the problem is not in the CSS. :)

Hopefully, though, I wish you the best that this will be solved soon.

You can simply go to Customize Journal Style › Options to fill in the sidebar. :)

Thank you for using my layout. :)

I'm sorry, but the calendar on the sidebar was meant not to be shown. Tags, on the other hand, are always shown on every post if you have tags for that post.

Just make sure that you followed the 'Five Simple Steps for Installation' as specified above. Make sure to select NO to ALL dropdown boxes. And make sure the select a Flexible Squares theme first before you do anything. :)

I absolutely loved the layout. Have been looking for a clean, visually interesting layout to "resurrect" my LiveJournal and just stumbled upon this little gem! I loved the basic, cool colors and the fonts and how you set the user icons to their usual size, since there's a trend to shrink them and as an ex-icon maker that made me a sad panda! ;)

Thanks a lot!
R.
