SCOTLAND!!!♥♥♥ - Chosing the best of three cool options

For people who are bored and have nothing better to do at the moment, here is how I came by an awesome trip to an awesome country:

I already came home on September the 17th, but I didn't find time or inspiration to write about my school trip to Schotland yet.
Some time last year, our teachers told us it was about time we thought about our field excursion (is that the right word?), our last school trip before our final exams. We are about 150 students in grade 13 (12 back then), so they offered three trips to chose from, with each travel group being guided by two teachers :

1. Scotland (8-9-2011 to 17-9-2011)
What was special about this trip was the premise of touring the country and changing hostels to see more of Scotland. We were to board a ferry in Ijmuiden, Netherlands and arrive in Newcastle the next day. From there, the plan was to visit Stirling, Glencoe, Portree and Edinburgh.
What a trip! So much to see, so many things we could do! I had heard so much about the beauty of the landscape and the sights. It didn't take long for me to decide that this was the ideal trip for me.

2. Tuscany (9-9-2011 to 17-9-2011)
I didn't consider this option for one second. Not because I don't like Tuscany, quite the opposite, actually. I've been there twice and I loved it. It's beautiful and everyone should go there at least once.
But considering I had already seen pretty much everything they planned to include in the programme AND considering I really, really wanted to go to Scotland, the decision was clear.

3. Croatia (9-9-2011 to 17-9-2011)
Croatia is also supposed to be stunningly beautiful.
But the trip as it was planned by my school had two distinctive problems: The first being that the teachers assigned to it had obviously no idea what to do in Croatia and had almost no programme planned.
The second problem were the students who chose the trip. They had all seen that there was nothing planned for Croatia, so the only ones who were interested were those with their own plans, namely getting roaring drunk for nine full days. Not the kind of people I want to spend even five minutes with, let alone join them on their trip.

So, Scotland it was!
Incidentally, most of the people I like in my grade also chose Scotland.

travel, happiness, camsci is incredibly happy, scotland
