The Political Ramblings of a Hate Monger

So here it is, the ever infamous opinions of Adam. Now the dangerous aspect of this is that everything is put out on paper, so my words can come back to haunt me. But seeing as I am one arrogant asshole, and believe I am 99.99997% correct about everything, this isn’t a fear ( Read more... )

These political ramblings were very interesting and well thought-out.

I can appreciate what you're saying about Bush having the balls to attack Iraq when no one else did. But when you're talking to someone who would not approve of any president who goes to war - whether democratic or republican...then that doesn't really matter. I think it was a good idea to capture Saddam, but I think it was horrible to kill so many Iraqis in the process. That was not necessary.

I also liked the point you made about owning a gun and being educated about it...but I still hate guns lol.

Overall, I was impressed with what I read.

(In being a welfare kid, I must say, it was hard- especially going to school at St. Wendy's with many Fotroitians who had no clue how anything worked in real life - Estranged Dad did pay for my primary school education though!)

On another note, I miss you Adam. My laying-the-smack-down skills have been stifled since I've been away from home!

I understand what you mean, and growing up everyone seemed to believe in a Welfare Queen that was just rolling in the money eating up everyone's tax dollars. All the people I knew who were on it, were just barely surviving. The government made it so you can't work over/make over a certain amount and still stay on the system. So basically if you find work- work which isn't going to be enough to pay the bills, but might be a start, you get kicked off. I think since those days, they have tried to incorporate schooling and daycare provisions- so single parents could go back to school which is awesome. But yeah, I know we didn't get enough money/food stamps to survive, and if you tried to work, then what little you were getting was taken away. A lot of people also couldn't work because of health issues, or because its grandparents raising grandchildren ( ... )

I know we're coming from the same realm of thinking. I'm glad to say that we didn't know anyone trying to abuse that system- because I'm sure I would have found that extremely frustrating, especially with the people I did know who were really struggling. Granted, as far as I know they are all now off welfare, still members of the 'working poor', but in a better situation than before. With the limited help that welfare gives, and the way in which people are treated, I find it so mind-boggling that people try to use it on purpose- it's really pathetic ( ... )
