Next week, a prominent televangelist is going to air a documentary which argues "no Darwin, no Hitler." It's a common enough refrain among such folk, and that's not surprising, since many of them are quite convinced that your only options are strict Biblical literalism and blood-soaked nihilism

Even though today's creationists like to think they've refined their arguments since the days of Henry Morris, it really still comes down to straw man tactics. They use misinformation to build up a caricature that can be torn down easily enough to make Joe Average feel comfortable, even if he doesn't quite understand the so-called reasoning.
