Ahh, summer. I really am falling into a nice pattern of coming home at curfew (midnight, grrr), getting online for an hour or so, and then going to bed for a lovely average of 9 hours of sleep! Hmmm... careful what you say. One might get sued for offending fat/rotund/size-handicapped/whatever with your statement about not having self-control. They may consider it slanderous that you say such things (or rather libel, since it's written).

And America hasn't been exercising self-control since the early 1910s. The Great Depression only limited the lack of self-control for a while. The '60s were when people started to not care so much for self-control, and then the '70s.... sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll (nothing against rock-and-roll). And of course, before the '20s we had things like the Revolution, the Civil War, and other things. War is an attempt to control other people while not controlling ourselves. You rant, I rant. Smart people rant. Well, dumb people rant. Maybe I should just say sleepy people rant.

And another note on self-control... You enjoy blowing stuff up in excess, some people like to eat in excess. Both consist of a lack of self-control. Blowing lots of stuff up pollutes the air. Thank goodness for trees to clean it up. Oh wait, to make the fireworks, we have to cut down trees so we have the paper to wrap the black powder in...
