His journey had been an adventure, his heart hammering in his chest with the fear of the unknown and the excitement of discovery. The twists and turns of new roads intertwining with the hands of fate to bring him to the gates of Camelot. Present him his new life and his destiny. Merlin would miss his mother and she would always be in his thoughts, but had to do this. They both knew it. It was for the best. Merlin marveled at the sights, the smells, the sounds around him. Camelot didn’t look too shabby.
What he never expected was to have his very self threatened by the king upon arriving, his stomach churning as an innocent man was executed before his eyes for something he had to hide, to keep inside his chest. He had to conceal his magic from that moment forward. Always.
Merlin’s fate was in the hands of the Pendragons. What he never expected was to be defied and mesmerized by a set of blue eyes and a smirk. Merlin never knew his life would begin when their eyes met, but the prince soon turned into a beginning which Merlin hoped would never end.
