Oh! I love this so much! I've been away from the computer all day, and getting back and finding this waiting for me was absolutely brilliant! <3333 I'm glad you included Elyan, because I hearts him and his outsider's POV on everything that's happening here is a really nice touch. I think one of the things that I love most about Merlin is family, and so I love the way everyone - the different family units - set out on different paths and then come together in the end.

How the shadow-memories of Gorlois faded further and faster every time she reached for them now. Uther had stolen that from her, and Arthur was so much like his father sometimes it stuck in her throat.

Guh. I never thought of it this way, but that must be how the revelation must have felt to her.

Thank you for writing this, you just brightened my day with this. ♥

I liked the sadness of it. Loved that Morgana couldn't let Arthur die even after all that.

Oh, wonderful! I love the story within a story, and this is so well-written. Plus it's great to see a fic where Elyan has a major role :-)

fantastic tale - needless to say, I love Elena in any guise, and the story she tells is so beautifully full of tragedy and triumph.
well done.

This is breathtakingly beautiful. It drew me in so quietly I barely even realized it, understated and soft, but it built incredibly, and that moment with Morgana calling down the rain to the Cup was wrenching and gorgeous. I really loved this, and the framing of it all into Elena's story just adds to the wonderful layering of it. Awesome, awesome job.
