P2X-623 - 15:00 PMT

There were no vampires, weird dreams or alternative universes in sight where Cameron was. (Okay, so maybe the alternative universes thing wasn't that far a stretch and the weird dreams happened, but anyway.) Everything was perfectly normal. If by normal you meant having the huge space ship you were training on break down when entering a solar ( Read more... )

Sam was dressed in a way she hadn't been in a while--BDUs, hair tied back, pack loaded with scientific equipment and clean socks, and a loaded P-90 in her hands. She scanned the area for hidden dangers, and if asked would vehemently deny that she was also making sure that a certain flyboy was still in the one piece he'd been in when he left.

Not that she wasn't aware that was what she was doing, but she also knew how explosions worked, and injuries were common. Once she'd spotted Cameron, she gave him a quick nod before turning to the Marine in Charge. "I hear you guys need a couple of mechanics."

"You heard right," the MiC replied. "I'm personally getting tired of eating salads, so you couldn't have come at a better time. We figured it'd speed things up if we actually picked you up."

He motioned towards the Al'kesh in invitation.

"You're all been eating salads?" Sam tried to cover her smirk as she motioned the rest of her team to precede her onto the Al'kesh. "If I'd known that, I would have brought some other foods with me."

"Explain to me what happened, please?" She'd get the full story again, and speak to the on board engineers while she was at it, but it never hurt to get as many impressions as possible. "Was anyone injured?"

"What I heard is that some of the core blew when we dropped out of lightspeed," the marine started walking back to the ship. "Two of the mechanics got some mild burns but no one was seriously injured at least. Most of the power's been diverted to the life support systems so we don't have enough juice to get the Prometheus anywhere. Let alone to defend ourselves if we get discovered by the goa'uld. Which is why Colonel Pendergast asked for backup to fix this faster."

Cameron was looking back into the cargohold, but he stayed on his post at the controls. Even if he felt eager to see Sam, but then he'd seen her a few days ago so it was silly to be eager. Right? Right. Mind with the controls, which included closing the cargo door so he was allowed to look back.
