Well technically Rhode Island gets the polar bear, not us. Buddy Cianci would be pissed he missed out on bringing such a majestic creature to town. Also, I think somehow getting a polar bear out of money designated to re-build the country's already failing infrastructure should be commended. Plus Rhode Island certainly doesn't need any help with their infrastructure: http://www.asce.org/reportcard/2005/page.cfm?id=79 (From 2005, but still interesting)

On a serious note, I do think it is somewhat of a waste of money, albeit a ridiculously minute one. As much as I love them, we should leave the damn polar bears alone and stop bringing them into our tiny ass zoos so people can smile at them and kids can make ridiculously large pans of glass dirty.

Government waste, the specific kind that John McCain talked about during his campaign, accounts for a literally insignificant amount of expense ( ... )
