This series is best summed up in three words - Beautiful, Intelligent and Heartfelt. I'm going to go back and re-read the whole series the first chance I get (preferably when the other half is out of the house I can take the phone off the hook)! It's been a pleasure to read, and it goes down as one of my all-time favourite fics. Thank you for sharing it!! xxxx

Gah! I think one of the highest compliments is hearing that people not only read this but have read it more than once. It makes me kind of gleeful. But then you had to throw in that it's one of your favorite fics and well. I am aflutter on the inside ♥ ♥ ♥ I'm so happy you enjoyed this. Thank you for reading.

This ia the very, very, first time I've cried at the start of ANYTHING. That's a first. And now I'm trying for composure, because I've absorbed the characters and its all goodbye, goodbye, goodbye....

*fishes out tissues* this is ridiculous! To have write out these thoughts and moments forever would be pleasing, but everyone gets sucked back into the universe, even Achilles and Patroclus - whoops, Kirk and Bones.

I appreciate that thia last chapter is all about endings. No one ever really dies but its silly to say I can give you forever. In fact, what's more, what's as good as any parallel universe is that you're worth breaking my heart over when the circle ends. I feel as if this one of the things they have said to each other. Maybe I'm wrong and completely projecting ( ... )

Awww bb ;-;! I never really meant for it to break anyone's hearts I suppose. It was always supposed to be exactly what you said: an open door. Though, as I said in the reference guide, "I tried to write a real doctor and a real captain and a real space ship and a real Georgia farmhouse, but if I did my job, if I was true to all of them, they would mean many things to many people."

I think the ambiguity of the ending was there so that you could read into it anything that you wanted to be there. If it was that they'd leave each other and break each others' hearts then so be it. The spoiler for it, from my point of view, was that there's a discussion above it regarding time as malleable and flexible. It's a brief and very vague glimpse into time dilation and a little bit of physics. Forever to me is such a short measure of time, but to say, as Bones does, that he will love Jim for a time means that he will love him for all of it. From time beginning until time end ( ... )
