yes, ma'am...you can definitely start with that! most people start with scarves and that's basically a scarf that has been joined together. i'm so excited that you're knitting!!!!! i made kyle a hat this weekend (i'm excited that i can say that...making a hat in a weekend!)...i'll have to post pics.
but hats are a good second project, once you master the headband. you'll learn decreases and such from a hat, which i imagined you'll need for making baby stuff.
i wish we lived closer! i would knit with you. :)
