I wanted to write about being pregnant so that I would have some sort of record of how it was for me, and maybe a record for the Seamonkey if she ever needed some historical data or something. The past two weeks however I simply haven't wanted to write. I think I will make a list to make this whole thing easier for now.
1. My cousin Mandy brought me a ton of baby gear and clothing last week and then we had a really nice visit and she told me all about her birth experience... which I needed. She also brought her 2 year old, and it became Very apparent that Max and I live in a very Grown Up house. Yes we have toys and kids books. But we also have all sorts of dangerous stuff she can pull off shelves and onto herself. When Seamonkey starts crawling/walking we will really have to change our apartment. And also... we are going to need some dishes that are not glass cups or stoneware plates.
2. My friend Jessica came over last Friday and made a Belly cast for me. I am not sure what I am going to do with it, but it seems like a very hippy mama sort of thing to do.
3. My platelets are up! WAY WAY up! On Wednesday my number was 257 (Normal is between 150 and 400) so not only am I completely out of danger I am back in normal human range. What this really means is that since platelets have a 30 to 60 day cycle, I should experience normal clotting after birth and I can have that epidural if I want it. So YAY for a healthy mama.
4. On being ready- The baby room still isn't really ready, but Max and I did go get the Car Seat (and some other things) yesterday. Michelle our midwife, says her most proven superstition is that parents who procrastinate getting the car seat, have late babies. So we just took car of that. I still have to make curtains, and cover the baby bumpers, and unpack and wash a bunch of things. I am being strangely calm about everything I have yet to do.
5. Diaper delievery service starts on Tuesday! We went with compostable (

6. In the Prego TMI category, I lost my mucus plug yesterday. Physiologically this just means that my cervix has begun to dilate. It could still be another two weeks before I actually go into labor, but it also means that, it has begun so I could go into labor any min. I guess now we just wait and see, right?
7. I am super excited about meeting my baby girl. I don't know if you can tell.
