I recently watched a movie - The City of Life and Death, made in 2009 by Chinese director Lu Chuan, this film depicts the Battle of Nanjing in 1937 and the aftermath - see the Rape of Nanking.  It is told through the eyes of both the Chinese and Japanese soldiers and civilians

I can certainly understand that reaction. I read "The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II" by Iris Chang a couple of years ago and it was a disturbing, but important read. The horrors that some are capable of inflicting on others is very disturbing, but the book also tells about some of the bravery that took place during that tragedy.
