I decided to snag an idea from liz_marcs. I dragged together 50 songs that either make me smile or cheer me up, and put 'em up at Savefile.com. I'm hoping that some of the folks on my FList will do the same - It's a fun way to find new or unusual music, and maybe it'll spark a few conversations.

I was pleasently surprised to find out you have Melissa Ferrick I don't.

How is this legal, by the way, in terms of the download?

It's nice to be seen.

As far as legality goes, I'm not sure. I'm guessing that it's on par with making a friend a mix tape.

Like camperx said, it's kind of a grey area. I put it in the "mix tape" category myself.

As long as you're not letting people DL an entire CD without the artist's permission, I don't see the ultimate harm myself.

Why do people always say my mixes are ecclectic? My taste isn't that off-the-beam. I don't think. Anyway, I like the mix of artists you have in yours.

BTW, did you get a chanct to listen to that other download? I'm curious to know what you think of it, since I get the feeling that the Shukar Collective will end up being a love-it-or-hate-it sort of thing for most people.

I'm not saying your taste is bizarre or anything. I happen to love it, myself. You have to admit, though, that between your recent list and the Africander soundtracks, that you have a wider range of musical tastes than most.

That's a good thing, by the way.

And yes, it is indeed fun. I had a bit of a hard time finding enough decent tunes, though. I'd recently moved a lot of my music to CD for backup and deleted most of them for space, only found out now that either my burner or my software has a glitch - none of the CDs are readable my my 'puter, or anyone else's for that matter. Ugh!
