Well, that was a productive day. It's good to see that I've something to show for hours of work.
I've managed to extend the barrier around my compound. When you think about it, it's a relatively simple process; just coax the energy through the relays set up on the posts, and allow for points where the circuit may be broken to allow entry and a shutdown should something need to be repaired.
Like blowing a soap bubble inside another bubble.
The bad news of this, of course, is that THAT'S the extent of what I can do with it. The energy running through the barrier is too much to do anything else with, and what's around my compound, though powerful enough to do what I want, isn't nearly as powerful as the force keeping the barrier in place. Which means I have an endless supply of energy, but also that I can't divert the barrier and manipulate it as I please. Were I to set the whole thing coursing through the relays, my compound would be stuck on the outside of the barrier, and we'd no way of reaching it. Nothing will be able to interrupt THAT circuit.
On top of that, I've no idea HOW strong the relays would have to be to put up with that sort of energy flow.
So. Long story short, I've now protection around my living area.
Basic living quarters, protection, and waste management. Check. Next priority, food storage. It seems I've already attracted the attention of a
moogle, so I don't need to locate one. ...Since when do moogles have swords, anyway?
So.
Just a warning to the camp at large; mind your step in the vicinity. I have Roy patrolling the area, and he's a bit... excited about being a guard cat.
((So, Ying's living out near the barrier now. It's a fairly big area she's sectioned off, and looks like a mini ancient china being set up!))
