Crusading against mistletoe start?

Dec 06, 2007 13:11

Hi everybody. For those of you who are new, I'm Hulkling, one of the resident superheroes. If you need any help just ask. Or shout; superheroes are attracted to shouting.

Anyway, now that it's December the mistletoe should be showing up again. I had an idea earlier about how it could be stopped and save us all the embarrassing moments. That idea being mixing up a super-weedkiller. Unfortunately we didn't get very far at the time but now we shouldn't have a problem.

So! Two things:

One, we need a sample of the mistletoe. It should be just about everywhere by now but we need a brave volunteer to go and get some.

Two, if there are any botanists, chemists, scientists or other people who are good with plants we need all the help we can get.

Of course, there may be other ways to stop it and the best way is to have an open discussion so everybody feel free to offer suggestions or bring forward concerns.

And no, I'm pretty sure "killing it with fire" isn't a good idea. I think it's fire-proof and the cabins aren't.

((Alas, I must go to work. Mingle among yourselves. I'll be back to finish all threads old and new after my shift, or tomorrow morning!))
