Behold! The Day is Mine!
[Well... it is Thursday.]
Well met, my campground compatriots! It strikes me that we have had several waves of new arrivals to our fair encampment since last we marked that most hallowed of weekdays, Thor's Day. So! Lest the Odinson e'er stand accused of demonstrating insufficient hospitality, I bid thee all to join me in commemorating this day with food and fine fellowship. A repast have I prepared within, so I pray thee enter and partake of the bounty.
Further, it should be noted that while the Solstice draws nigh, this humble event is in no wise meant to supplant thy respective traditional wintertime festivities or celebrations. Verily, this would prove a poor excuse for the Yuletide Feast in Asgard, and 'twas not mine intent to stand this in its stead. All the same, I understand that some find it customary around this time to draft missives to His Excellency the Lord Borealis, Kris Kringle, sovereign of the Northern Pole, outlining one's desires for this holiday season. That being the case, I offer my services in ensuring their delivery, and have let stand bins for the collection of thy "Letters to Santa." Deposit thy communiques and I shall see to it that they reach his mystic workshop ere he makes his nighttime ride.
...
... I am, of course, quite open to receiving suggestions as to how such delivery might be achieved.
Here follows an editorial insertion by Thor, the maker of this post, and verily no other: Also. A portion of this day and its commemorations are likewise due to Axel. For simplicity's sake, let us say that the "A" in "Thursday" signifies Axel. 'Tis a noble letter, the first of its kind, blazing a trail for the others that follow in alphabetical fashion, just as it begins his noble name.
((OOC: So there's food inside the Mess Hall for those who want it, and as Thor was cooking you can be sure pancakes were included on the menu. But also come and leave your letters to Santa with him, and help him brainstorm how he might, y'know... actually get them to Santa. 'Cause damned if he knows.
Edit: Calling it a night. Will pick up tomorrow!))
