[it's been raining, perhaps nonstop, for several hours now. pretty hard, actually -- after all, we're in a swamp.
there's a strange chill in the air, as well, something that also smells a little off, a little rotten. no matter where you walk, no matter where you go, it won't go away. there are giant shallow puddles on all the paths, heavy enough that the mud sticks to your shoes as you walk.
