Yo, for those who don't know me, the name's Zidane Tribal (I guess you prolly know me as "that guy with a tail"). Anyway, I'm gonna tell you about moogles. There are lots of moogles where I'm from, and I could tell you all kindsa stories about Stiltzkin the wanderer or Artemicion the postman. But I'm just gonna tell you about one.

This is the story of Mog.

Once there was a little girl who lived all alone in an empty village. Her grandfather had died, so only the moogles were left to take care of her. She had many moogle friends, but her closest and most dear companion was Mog. Mog was a tiny moogle, who couldn't fish, or fight, or even talk. Sometimes, it seemed like the only thing Mog was good at was running away. But the little girl cared about her friend anyway and did whatever she could to protect her. She and Mog were the same age, and on their fifth birthday they gave each other ribbons as a promise that they would grow up into fine ladies one day. One day, the girl met some travelers who were on a quest. They became fast friends, and despite the fact that she made a promise to her grandfather not to leave the village, the little girl decided to travel with them. The rest of the moogles stayed behind, but Mog came with her.

Sadly, her newfound friends couldn't protect her from everything. She was kidnapped by a powerful sorcerer and taken away to a volcano far far to the north. He meant to cast a spell on her that would likely end her life. The girl's friends hurried as fast as they could to save her, but they were just a little too far behind. That day, little Mog who had always ran away and depended on the little girl, threw herself in front of the girl and gave her everything to protect her. "I'm sorry I couldn't stay by your side," Mog finally spoke as she disappeared into a white light, leaving behind her ribbon.

Mog gave up her life that day, and bought me enough time to save my friend. I'd known moogles all my life, but still managed to underestimate them. The moogles here are still on strike, and I know most of you guys take them for granted--and that really gets my goat, you know? So please think of Mog, and maybe reconsider how you feel about our moogle friends and neighbors here in Camp.
