[ once upon a time, a B-movie themed summer camp was besieged by a cult determined to resurrect their wicked leader through very nefarious means. children and adults alike were poisoned with an unknown disease, others were kidnapped by their own peers and locked in a basement, and still more remain in camp proper, left to worry over the situation and unable or unwilling to intervene. a deep unease has stricken the camp, and it's not even the fun kind of uncomfortable, like Mandatory Naked Day or Marcy-Wants-You-To-Bend-Over-Tuesday. the onset of night does little to ease fears. as the day fades, you see that the only remaining light comes from a steadily growing fire in center of camp. huh.

you look more closely -- ah. the fire is the work of the members of Masqué's cult, naturally. fifty -- no, you realize, there are more -- at least one hundred members have now gathered around the fire, holding hands as they chant in a strange, monotonic language. the flames are now rising almost impossibly, exponentially higher; as you watch, several dozen cult members break away from the circle and begin to march into camp with obvious determination. several walk towards Masqué's manor -- how does an entire house just move around camp like that, you might wonder, it's so much closer than it was yesterday. sudden noise erupts from inside the house. it is obvious that the prisoners have been released, but why? the cultists can't have changed their minds.

but as you watch one cultist dragging a kicking and screaming camper towards the fire, a horrible realization begins to dawn. more cult members appear to help subdue the girl, and together they shove her towards the white-hot flames, chanting loudly as they push.

oh. ]
