Some of you might think this is a little preemptive. I wouldn't say so. Last year, we actually had loads of posts like this. Posts with warnings. Foreboding things. I remember being one of them, so it wouldn't do to just leave things alone. After all, this year, we have a whole lot of unknowns to deal with.
But for some of you, that's going to be confusing. So I'll start at the beginning.
Hi, my name's Sam Winchester. Odds are, you've met my brother while you're here. Slimmer chances are that you know me. I'm not the social butterfly Dean is-or I guess, you could just say he's been around here longer.
Every year, there are two periods of time that are high in activity of problems. I'm not talking waking up with breasts or everyone learning that you had a rough childhood when your twelve-year-old self shows up. I'm talking about the anniversary or Halloween, which is a month-long adventure in camp. The anniversary lands every May, and that's what, to my knowledge, ended with us waking up in what looks like Kansas. I confess I was missing in action last May, but I've asked some people. They painted the picture for me.
Halloween (the entire month of October, again) is different. Camp decides not to pull any stops. Last Halloween, there were burning houses and issues with this Masque guy. People were captured and forced into one of those cry_wolf games that are played on the internet sometimes. (And the ones we sometimes end up having foggy dreams about.) On top of this, we had to deal with the usual suspects. Boggarts, which make you see what it is you fear most, and other things like that. It might seem like nothing, but trust me: it isn't.
Of course, we have additional problems. We're in a new place. Maybe Halloween will come and go like it's nothing. I wouldn't count on that. Maybe Elizabeth will make up for our past guest by showing us who's really in charge. I can't say for sure.
But this is a warning, and ... I guess a place where we can discuss. If anyone picked up any clues from May that's still open-ended, I'd like to hear it.
And ... as always, I have a database compiled on a lot of different creatures and beings here in camp. If you'd like to tell me about that, I'm all ears.
Thanks.
Edit, per Naoto Shirogane: The only other piece of advice I might have to offer is to warn others against brushing off anything unusual you see; one harmless event can always lead to something else, and October is not a time to be ignoring potential dangers. I believe with how accustomed many of us are with this environment that there will be some who forget this crucial element of Camp.
Edit Two: Large fights against monsters occur, as well as dangerous wolves and vampires possibly going out of control.
(( ... all replies will be typed! but if you want to bother Sam directly, he is chilling in the library.
edit: headed to bed. will pick up. ))
