ITP: Homework

You know, I'm quite sure my school days are over.

A little. Do you have an assignment you need help with?

Yeah. Why do people stay in Gotham? The prof's already said we can't say "because it's cheap".

Because when it's not being horrible it's amazing. It just has something. Why do you and your family stay in Gotham?

College. My mom's job's here.

The place gets under your skin, and makes you care about it. You want to hope that today's going to be the day that someone gets their fresh start, and it'll be deeper than a coat of paint or a dye job.

You can reinvent yourself in Gotham.

That's true. There are people in Gotham that can make you believe in a better world.

There's also an impressive cultural scene and some interesting, if sadly neglected, architecture.

Which you Bat people would know all about, lurking on them and stuff.

Some of those roofs are really poorly maintained.

Uh. Not that I've looked.

Apart from that assignment with the climbing and the sketching for art class and that was a scary project, not the least because the guy I was partnered with kept trying to look down my shirt and - you don't need to know that.

What were you sketching that needed so much climbing?

The hospital.

You poor thing.
