ITP you have a sign floating above your head

[There is a sign above Rika's head.

The moral of my story is:
Always stand by your friends, even if they've murdered two adults and are trying to blow up your school.

Other characters, too, may have a sign above their head containing potential morals from their canon.]

[The moral of my story is:
Be responsible enough to not get all your friends killed and have enough fun to not be an asshole to them]

[looking at Rika's sign] ... I'm not sure I get it, but I can agree with always standing by your friends no matter what.

[takes deck out of holder] Okay, so! ... Ahaha, dueling's so natural to me I don't even know where to start. Uhhh, well! There are three types of cards: monster, magic, and trap. Monster cards have attack and defense points, but magic and trap cards just have effects and stuff. Well, er, monsters can have effects too, but...

So basically the center of the game is the monsters, if they're the ones with points?

You need to balance all three to have a really good deck, though.

Why?

Eh, why? Er, that's 'cause you have to be able to support your monsters and stuff.

Why don't we play a game? It might be easier to show rather than tell.

[perks up] Yeah, sounds good! I believe in learning by doing anyway! Nothing fun about long, boring lectures.

Man, it's been so long since I've dueled someone! Hold on, I'll go run and get another deck!

How's it go, then?

To start with, each player draws five cards. Oh, if you want, you can have the first move! And when it's your turn, you draw another card.

Thank you. [draws five cards] So what do I do?

topdecking April 24 2011, 04:15:11 UTC
Okay, um! You'll want to draw another card 'cause it's your turn. So you can put a monster in attack or defense position. The points they have in either position is written on the card! You don't lose Life Points from battles with defense position monsters, but you do from ones in attack mode. Oh, but you can only play monsters with up to four stars without tributes! And that's like... um... [getting lost in his own explanation]

One thing at a time. What do you do after you put a monster in attack or defense position?
