Ah, her. She had little to contribute as to the purpose behind them, beyond the ruse of entertainment. I suspect Erin does not wish to have her own provide us with extra information. She was well versed in evasion.

The woman I spoke to learned about personal flotation devices through a book.

Which suggests that some amount of thought was put into it.

She said Erin is the one in charge of their operation. She is the one behind Sam's riddle, is she not?

It also suggests that they're operating well outside of their element.
