[blinks and shakes his head - whether it's for the eye-searing cats, or for the guy who's setting prickles off up and down his spine, even he's not sure]

It's like someone's Easter eggs hatched into really cranky cats.

[... it's probably me]

That's a way to describe it.

[squats down and holds out a hand to a blue cat, cautiously] They friendly?

[very friendly, and not really afraid at all]

They're used to people, being here.

[will give pets, then! has pretty darn talented fingers] I'm not very familiar with cats. Never had pets when I was a kid. I've thought about it a couple times recently, but . . .

They seem to like you well enough.

[and omg they love pettings]

Animals usually seem to. [grins and shrugs] I don't know why, but I won't complain.

Perhaps you just have a sense for them. Some people do.

Could be! [sits down on the ground; there's immediately a cat in his lap] So you're giving them away?

They're not mine, I just take care of them. They're strays.

Really? I had no idea camp had strays. You'd think they'd be harder to miss, in these colours.

They're left behind when people who care for them leave camp. And I haven't seen them in this colour before, camp is probably being camp again.

Okay, that's just sad. [makes a face and gives lapkitty chinrubs] Arra took her cats with her when she went home. I guess I can help out, it's not much fun to be abandoned and left out on your own.

[as Tony knows quite personally]

It is. But if you want to help, I'm glad.

I can't do nothing when there's something I can help with.

Does the camp store carry cat food? And, uh, whatever else he'll need? She? How do I even tell?

It's a he. And yes, it does.

[can tell the gender without looking at it :)]
