Pray pardon, but what sorts of things do you find most engaging, on such occasions where one is unable to move from their bed?

I don't run into that situation a lot, but maybe reading?

I have read what books were immediately in reach, and I'm in no fit state to try and fetch more of them, at the moment.

I'm sure I could use the computer to find more material, but I hardly know where to start, I'm afraid.

I think there are online databases. What sort of things do you like to read about?

...History, mostly, or those which have to do with the military; strategy, technology, and the like. Learning about places unlike my home has been one of my favorite pastimes.

[pause]

Have you ever read anything by Tolstoy?

I've not. Relevant, then?

Sort of. Tolstoy isn't contemporary-- but his novels were always about Russian society in some manner or other, usually during wartime. They're long, but really beautiful--Anna Karenina is what I'm thinking of. I don't know if it would fit what you're looking for, but maybe you'll like it. It is a classic, after all.

Mm, Russia is one of the ...European countries, yes? And I am not opposed to reading other genres; history of combat is simply what I gravitate to. I would be willing to give it a try, certainly.

Yes. It's very far East-- it's big enough to be a continent by itself. You could also try War and Peace, that's the other novel he's well-known for.

Heh, well, that certainly does sound relevant.

[another pause, and then a link to both novels]

I found a Classics database.

I just like to read a lot, even if it's mostly fiction and demonology texts.

Are you sick?

Demonology sounds most fascinating.

It's for homework assignments.

Oh. I hope it's not serious.

Serious enough that I am unable to move, but I brought it upon myself, so there's little complaining I feel much entitled to.
