[A pony is using magic to wheel out a dress form. On this dress form is, well, a dress. The bodice is made of yellow corn kernels, the skirt made of green corn husks, and it has a red-ribbon lace up on the back. It's sleeveless.]

All right, be honest. What do you think?

[Bites her lip before adding quickly.]

It's a prototype!

To be honest, it looks a little corny.

That's terrible.

It is corny, though.

You've said that. At least use a new pun if you must.

It's a little difficult to think of puns when there's a little unicorn preforming magic right in front of me.

...I'll concede that.

I wasn't aware that unicorns were so concerned with human fashion.

This being the first unicorn I've met, maybe they all are.

But they are unable to wear it themselves, so the only reason for it would be an economic benefit or simply because they like making clothes. And the latter would speak more to the individual more than the collective.

It could be for trade. Clothing made with magic would have to be more expensive than clothing made by more conventional means, if only because of how rare it is.

That's only if there aren't any other unicorns. If unicorns are commonplace, then clothing made with magic wouldn't be as rare.

How could it not be rare? It's magic.

gavehimhead May 14 2011, 22:44:42 UTC
It's rare to us, but on different worlds it may not be like that.

kepthishead May 14 2011, 22:47:37 UTC
Then that's a terrible idea. What's the point to magic if it's commonplace?

gavehimhead May 14 2011, 22:51:50 UTC
I can only speculate, but I would assume it's to make their lives easier. And unicorns lack hands, so magic may compensate for that.

But she's making dresses, so there must be someone who wears them.
