It's a stimulant. A number of people rely on it to help them get started during the day. I myself used to be quite addicted to it, but I've gotten my intake down over the past six months or so.

Oh, no no, I'm sorry, that came out wrong! I didn't-- t-that is, um, I just meant that, well, if it's something you're relying on too much, and not having it around makes you grouchy and uncomfortable, then maybe it's not really so great...?

. . . hmm. Fair enough. In any case, it was a matter of wanting to cut down and to also keep its efficiency from decreasing. If you drink all of that continuously, it eventually won't have the same effect as per usual. Still, having it all vanish is a travesty.
