At least they're attempting to be whimsical by providing music. If this... eccentric noise can even be considered music.

Nope. There's classical, if you don't want someone yelling in your ear and a synthesizer going crazy on you--that's the artificial thing that's simulating a musical instrument.

Yelling is considered musical? Well then! I wonder if this means that my lute playing abilities might actually sound pleasant to some people here.

It might not be as pervasive as techno-dance music playing on the speakers, that's for sure . . . But some people will complain no matter what music is playing.

That's people, I suppose. No one will ever be pleased with everything.

It's a small place--people are probably in the grip of cabin fever half the time. How has your stay been so far?

I'd say it's been relatively peaceful... which makes it strangely refreshing and unnerving at the same time.

That, and I keep wondering if I'll find myself waking up in the Gallows if I let my guard down.

Gallows . . . Meaning somewhere where they execute people?

It's also the old slave quarters that Kirkwall uses to house the mages in their Circle of Magi.

It's got such a nice name--you'd wonder why people aren't breaking down the doors to get in.

To be fair, doors were certainly breaking the last time I saw it. Just not to get in.
