ITP awkward signs oh boy

Jul 19, 2011 21:54

[Today there is a probably awkward, probably intrusive sign floating above your head. For example:

ASK ME ABOUT SURVIVING HELL]

... That's charming.

((OOC: Awkward signs post! I'll probably tag around for a while but yeah mingle and all that jazz.))

[We have the best coping mechanisms]

Hi. And how was your day?

*they seem perfectly suitable to me*

Well enough. And your own?

It could be better, but that's always the case on a normal day at Camp.

Fortunately most of the smaller frustrations of this place fade in a brief enough span of time. And what would imprisonment be without a few arbitrary enforcements?

I have a job too--that makes extra arbitrary enforcements for the counselors even with counselling duties.

That's right, this place is attempting to push people to live up to their "duties". I hope it will not be too much of a hassle for you.

I don't mind talking to people. And I suppose the little enforced chats are supposed to bring the introverts out of the woodwork. But it still doesn't make me think that Camp is any less skeevy for it.

No, of course not. But by this point is there anything it could do to change that opinion? Even letting us all go would raise some awkward questions.

We still have no idea what all this is supposed to accomplish. Or what the counselors are supposed to do besides get increasing frustrated with our job scopes.

I suppose the sheer pointlessness of it all gets to me.

Most of it is very pointless, isn't it? Trivial even beyond us being toys for some petulant child.

If they ever did tell us one day, chances are, some people would be beyond caring by that point.

*short dry laugh* All too true.

And if we do get out, it will be a while before we stop checking our food really carefully on Tuesdays and expect gorillas for a morning wake-up call.

If we remember at all, that is, or allow ourselves to accept this as anything more than an elaborate dream.
