...well, I don't think it's exactly the way this is making it seem. My relationships have just tended to end pretty quickly so far. And, I guess, the mourning periods between haven't been that long either.

But I wouldn't go that far for myself just yet. There were... reasons that things didn't work out.

Yeah. Like I said, I only came out a couple of months ago, right after I broke up with my last boyfriend.

Well, my first girlfriend, with a little help from my mother who didn't take the news well, had to leave town for a while, and she made it pretty clear she wasn't interested in keeping in touch.

Basically. But I started dating someone else not long after. Honestly, it was a surprise, to both of us, but there was a connection and things were over with Maya, so we gave it a shot.

And things were great, as long as it was only the two of us. Around other people, it was like we weren't even friends because she was so afraid of her family finding out she's gay. So it didn't really last.

That's for the best. Secret romances are only cute in movies, and someone always dies in those.

[shakes her head and smiles] Anyway, that explanation got kind of long. But other than that, there have been a few flirtations and some run-ins under the mistletoe, but no other girlfriends to speak of.

Oh, that's right. You probably haven't run into it yet, but in July and December there's mistletoe around Camp that makes people kiss when they stand under it.
