suddenly: soirée.

Jul 29, 2011 08:49

[On this abnormally cool summer's evening in Camp Fuck You Die, an elaborate tent has been set up just outside the carnival. At 7PM sharp, everything in the carnival lights up - the ferris wheel, the strands of festive lights strung around the Tunnel of Love, even the haunted house are all illuminated. The atmosphere appears to be welcoming, ( Read more... )

[Look fast, because if Fenris has his way, no one will see him out of his armour again ever. With the one obvious exception.]

Venhedis.

[w-well Fenris isn't the only one who's a little uncomfy in formal wear, if that helps?

he's pretty sure it doesnt....]

I vastly prefer my armour. [He twists, checks over his shoulder.] Regular clothing feels far too . . . exposed.

[In other words, he's paranoid.]

I can hardly fault you for that...though I'm more bothered by the style than anything else.

[he glances down at his own outfit. western clothes are funny. :| ]

This is . . . fairly typical, for fancy occasions, in Kirkwall. I have never worn clothing like this before.

The formal wear at home is...completely different than this.

Either way, I spend as little time in it as I can get away with.

Understandably.

It's as though they intentionally design the clothes to be as uncomfortable as the occasions...although I have to say this event feels much more relaxed than the ones at home.

I . . . have never attended one. Not as a guest.

Look, there's a bar. I'm getting wine.

Parties in Chengdu usually mean politics, even if they're not explicitly intended as such. [his tone makes it pretty clear just how much he doesn't love politics.] Thankfully there don't seem to be such expectations here.

Do you mind if I accompany you?

Yes, that is how they were in Tevinter and, I am certain from Hawke's complaints, Kirkwall as well. Though the latter also seemed to be events during which the nobility of the wretched city attempted to convince Hawke to wed their elegible sons. [Fenris sounds rather dryly amused about that.] But then, I suppose that, too was politics, given her position and wealth.

By all means, do.

[coming along with you, then!]

The emperor has asked me on more than one occasion if I won't consider spending more time in the capital, instead of up north with the army. I'm not quite sure how to tell him that I'd rather stab myself with my own chopsticks than spend any more time than I have to making polite conversation with Huang Hao. [he can match that dry amusement, oh yes.]

I do not know the man - or woman - but I can understand the sentiment. I am not one for polite conversation.

[Fenris flags down the bartending zombie with clear distaste and a subtle shimmer in his markings. Once he has his wine:] Foul things. I should lay the corpse back to rest. At least these particular undead do not seem demon-ridden.

[well, sure, why not. he gets whatever Fenris is having.]

It's unsettling. The dead stay dead, where I come from.
