[The weather around camp has been growing increasingly odd, with the air feeling thicker and thicker by the day. The oddness by the barrier had begun to expand to camp at large - strange echos, odd bursts of light, and a general sense of dread permeating everything ( Read more... )

So do you introduce yourself like this to everyone, or is it just me?

Tch. Name's Soul Eater. Who're you?

I don't like to cut corners.

I'm Maka's friend, though she's being a complete bitch. You're her ... thing.

Do you have a name or should I just call you "Maka's Friend"?

[... and now he is giving you a really, really odd look.] Her thing? I'm her Weapon partner if that's what you mean.

I don't exactly make it my business to learn all about your screwed up juvenile detention camp.

And the name's Santana.

It's just an academy, dude. Don't know where you got the whole juvenile detention camp thing from.

That's just what you believe because you're too naive to believe otherwise. Those of us on the outside? See it for what it really is.

An academy to train Meisters and Weapons? Yeah, that's exactly what it is.

I might buy that soldier crap if you weren't put into that place as kids. You're supposed to be living it up, which, from what I know of Maka? Doesn't happen.

Oh yeah, because being a new Weapon is such an easy thing to deal with. Not like it's dangerous or anything. Most kids are in the N.O.T. class -- the one that just teaches them how to control their abilities.

Tch, well there's no denying that. Getting Maka to do anything is like pulling teeth.

Yeah, I've noticed, and she doesn't even get music. I don't know what the worst crime is.

[music you say? this is relevant to his interests]

Music wins, I think. I mean, she wanted to know more about jazz, but instead of listening to it, she goes and reads a book about it.

Which is totally a crime, because that doesn't make up for anything.

One time, all her books ended up in the pool, and she had a panic attack over it. It was pretty pathetic.

[grimaces]

Reading's her thing. I know I'd be angry if I found all my records floating in the pool.
