It seems like something pulled us sideways into another plane and timestream. There are alternate versions of a lot of people around. Which shouldn't be possible without some very high-level chronomancy or killing us all, but there we have it.

Rapunzel was saying the same thing about the alternates... so that would mean a lot of different planes got drawn into this one, not just ours.
