*places a hand lightly on the side of her face, tips of his fingers touching her temple, and closes his eyes as he stops holding back and, aiming first for the area of memories of her receiving the information about her powers from her brother, really looks--*

[he'll be able to see the conversation, as well as how vague her brother was about the actual details of her powers. he'll also probably hear mention of the "white violin" and the damage her powers would have done if she hadn't been stopped. and nearby in her mind is probably another conversation with a different brother, this one the same age as her, but she quickly tries to block him from being able to read it]

... um, I probably should have told you something else, first.

I don't need it as a warning, Vanya, though I do appreciate your consideration. It just also might be helpful for me to hear your perspective on them. But you truly don't need to say anything about them if you don't want to.

... my worst nightmares are about Hargreeves' labs. He's doing experiments. A-and I never knew if they were real. I-I wasn't allowed to talk about them at home and I can't really remember them and there wasn't any reason Hargreeves would want to experiment on me. But now there is! And I don't know if I want to remember them.

I don't know. I've always had nightmares like that.
