[an indeterminate period of time ago (mainly because i am too damn lazy to look it up) your characters may have found themselves in the strangest of places - the minds of other people. There, they could learn all sorts of interesting things about their fellow detainees, such as their horrible love for disco ( Read more... )

[You find yourself an a strange, slightly-overcast city, not unlike Frankfurt in the 70's. Cheerful, bustling, at a market near late afternoon, not quite yet getting into the evening, and with a distinctive fall chill. Off in the distance is a looming gray wall, the occasional bird far off in the distance flying over the structure. A little checkpoint is far in the distance.

But who cares about that, right now there's a lovely market going on

((ooc: fair warning that Zhores' mind is a rather unfriendly place. Warnings for death, trauma, violence, being batshit, and possibly possession. Feel free to talk to me in Irc as Shaun, or in gchat as basilmemories.))]

[stops at the frilliest of the quality art.] Oh, it's lovely! Like the shine of the purest white rose amongst a roomful of lilies.

[He seems to almost cringe, but then he comes over and dutifully sell his art to the clearly tasteless aristocracy, possibly hating his life in the process.

Meanwhile, a white raven seems to be watching this all from nearby, calmly munching on a bit of bread.]

[will treasure the frilliest art of your heart forevermore]

Oh, what a beautiful and noble raven! [attempting to buy some brioche to feed it]

[You are my favorite ;>

And he hops onto Ferdinand's shoulder and whispers into his ear]

"go east."

[and then he's gone, flying up and away]

[awestruck]

It's a portent! [totally going east like the bird says. ....assuming that Ferdinand can tell cardinal directions...]

[East goes towards the dull, imposing wall...]

[...But it's not pretty :(

Goes anyway, because how could a bird telling him to do something ever go wrong]

[it seems to be just fine preening on your shoulder, only repeating the command if you start to hesitate.

A checkpoint shows up in the distance, small against the vast slap of concrete that's the rest of the wall.]

Um? Is that where I go? [asking the bird, yes]
