[an indeterminate period of time ago (mainly because i am too damn lazy to look it up) your characters may have found themselves in the strangest of places - the minds of other people. There, they could learn all sorts of interesting things about their fellow detainees, such as their horrible love for disco ( Read more... )

[Listening in on the various languages, trying to match them to what he's learned about the time period since it's obvious to him that wherever this is,it's a time that has long passed.

Also, regarding that angel steadily.]

[Hmm... will be searching for that entrance a little more quickly.]

*It's easy enough to find and to go through. Once you do, you will be on the same sorts of streets as you were before, but there is no sign of anyone on this side of it. The central chapel and piazza are up ahead, or you can wander.

Whatevs.*

[Might be slightly uneasy about this emptiness but is still heading for the chapel.]

*A wind picks up once you reach the piazza, blowing more of those papers around. There is a tall statue in the middle of the piazza and a couple of fountains pumping water halfheartedly. A few drops of rain begin to fall, heavy and cold. The entrance to the (Sistine, although it does not yet know that name) chapel is up ahead through the piazza.*

[Is going to yank another of those papers out of the air and examine that statue.]

*It says much the same thing as the others. The name Lucrezia may be visible. The statue is an obelisk, very tall and aged. There is Latin around the base it is on, Jaecta Est Alea [...] Aut Caesar Aut Nihil*

*...

Hey, look. Rain. And a bit of thunder. If you stay out here, you'll be caught in the storm.*

[Is like a cat so heading for the Sistine when he hears that thunderclap.]

*Another thunderclap! Flash of lightening.

The doors to the chapel are unlocked, though weighty, and there is no one visible inside. Ahead are the rows of pews and, behind them, the altar and area for the Pope and cardinals. There are wings opening out to the right and left on either side of the pews. Voices can be heard coming from... somewhere. It's hard to make out the words, but they are venomous.*

[Well, from what he knows about his history, he's not surprised to hear less than pleasant things going on in the Vatican. To the right wing!]

*The voices seem to be getting louder as you go to the left. Are you familiar with this building? Or basic architecture? Because it is soon becoming apparent that the inside does not match up with how it should.

The hallway is wide and seems to be getting darker somehow, although the storm outside is continuing without getting stronger. There are windows looking out on the storm, and your footsteps echo as you walk. There is a door up ahead, closed, and there seem to be some more if you keep going further down.*

[This is definitely DISCONCERTING, considering heading back out into that storm...]

*Lightening outside. It's not striking anything, just lightening up the clouds.*

[Hmmm... I'll check out more of the doors for now.]
