[an indeterminate period of time ago (mainly because i am too damn lazy to look it up) your characters may have found themselves in the strangest of places - the minds of other people. There, they could learn all sorts of interesting things about their fellow detainees, such as their horrible love for disco ( Read more... )

[You're just entering a beautiful and picture perfect Japanese village. Occasionally someone passes by you, but they don't seem quite...real, as though they're just as much a part of the background as the village itself. It's sunset, and the crickets are chirping. Everything seems very quiet and peaceful for now.

If you look ahead, you see many paths branching off the path you're currently on, with no real indication as to which might lead you deeper.]

[... just going to quietly take in everything for a moment]

A bit nostalgic.

[Perhaps surprisingly, there's a voice behind you.]

Is it?

[If you turn around, you'll see someone who looks like Hanyuu. Despite her transparency, she looks more real than the rest of the villagers, but the fact that she isn't Hanyuu is probably readily visible to Lambda.]

[turns around quickly, her eyes widening in surprise for a short moment before narrowing ever so slightly]

... Who are you?

[If you want to take a trip into Desmond's subconscious... It looks like a loading screen. Everything is flashing in and out of focus. Like a badly done computer simulation, or one that's been corrupted.

You are in Florence, Italy in 1476 suddenly, though it still flickers every now and again to remind you that there is something not quite right about it.

A strange wall of code is blocking your entry to most of the buildings. In the distance, you can see a flickering light. And if you look in the other direction, there is a vendor, a doctor wearing his mask for the plague

The people flash in and out of existence.]

*What.

Looking around without moving anywhere. This is really far into the uncanny valley for him.*

[it looks like a normal square. Finally, the people flicker fully into existence.

But something doesn't seem right. Not all of them are speaking Italian. Some are speaking the tongues of an entirely different continent.]

*Casually wanders over to one of the groups of people talking in Italian to listen in to their conversation, keeping a wary eye on everything else.*

[

You find yourself in an endless expanse of space. There's in no ground beneath your feet, no nothing--in the moment you become aware of your existence here, you'll find yourself floating aimlessly with no control over yourself. If you want the concept of gravity, you'll have to create it for yourself. Nothing here is a given. Even your very own identity--it's easy to feel lost here, and if you can't remain sharply aware of yourself and your purpose, you could easily become nothing more than a scrap of seaweed in a vast Sea.

Here, there is just you, and what appears to be an infinite amount of crystals--Fragments--floating throughout the expanse. After you get your bearings, perhaps, if you feel so compelled, you could reach out and touch one?]

((there will almost certainly be some amount of creepy badtouch... I will also surely be slow! ping me on IRC for anything.))

[

Your environment warps around you, and when the dust settles you find yourself in a cozy, cutely decorated room that looks almost like it could be out of a little girl's dream world. There's a fluffy, pink bed in the center of the room, with large and colorful pillows scattered across it; you can find a variety of candies all throughout the room, with almost any kind of sweet you could imagine. There are jellybeans of various colors and chocolate coins lying about on the bed and on the tables, a piece of shortcake with a fork sticking in it, ready to be eaten, and a container holding a colorful rainbow of konpeito. There also seems to be a black cat with a blue ribbon tied around its tail curled up on a tall stand in the opposite corner of the room, staring you down quietly.]

[Welcome to the Citadel! A massive space station with an amazing view... Or rather, it would be if you weren't in one of its many many elevators. Are you going up, or down? While you decide, please listen to this smooth jazz]

[[good chance of violence here, btw!]]

[his hand overs over the controls for a minute, before hesitantly directing the elevator downward.]

[The elevator lurches downward. As you descend, an announcement is piped in over the music, stating that C-sec currently has no leads on a recent spate of murders, but that an investigation is 'on-going.']

[After a time, the elevator stops, and its doors slide open to reveal the lower wards. Everything is dimly lit with the exception of bright neon signs hovering over storefronts. The ward is densely packed with passers-by of many species, some of whom are eying you with suspicion. Or is it just malice?]

Wow. Thanks. Not what I need to hear right now.

[hangs back by the elevator for a second, before giving the crowd one last uneasy look and pushing forward. just going to walk along with the general flow for now.]
