[Suddenly, a grim reaper, scythe and all, is standing in front of you.]

Bienvenido al campamento. Okay, newcomers--definitely deads to the left, live ones to the right. I can answer your questions, but only if you help me out a little in return.

((Ninja-intro in here if you like. Everyone is welcome. Mingle.))

We'll see.

I'd throw myself into community service, but there isn't really anything we can do, here. Nothing we do makes a lasting difference.

. . . That's not always true. Thinking like that will make you depressed.

Have you experienced otherwise?

[There's nothing more sad than a depressed skeleton, okay?]

I've learned new things, met more people than I ever would have back at home and known this world. Each little thing is important--even helping someone with her protest against the sugar ban.

That protest is likely to be futile, but it gives people something to do. It's even changed into a concert at some point.

I'm having some trouble thinking of it as anything other than a time waster.

Time is something you spend on other people. Which is something like your job, isn't it?

You make it sound so respectable.

It's one of the most important jobs. Because it is terrible when people die and no-one comes along to ease the passing.

...

I agree.

So your world is fortunate to have reapers. As is mine.

I can't really imagine a world without.

. . . It would be a terrible place.
