There's also a cellphone sitting on top of one of the machines--from the faint tinny yelling, it seems like someone was trying to give instructions before Hanna got distracted

You could just run things on cold and they'd come out alright. These machines don't look that sturdy, anyway.

You could, if you're having a hard time separating things. Put the nicer items aside and run them later on permanent press.
