Tea Party with Captive Listener

Oct 13, 2011 18:46

[You find yourself sitting at a lovely table with all the trimmings, this unusually warm October evening. Above the table is a sign:]

UNLOAD YOUR PROBLEMS ON THIS DUDE

[The arrow points down to ZEX. He sighs, and pours you tea.]

I suppose you might as well. I have no other plans for the evening.

It is not, but I will understand if you choose not to trust me.

It's more suspicious if you don't stand up for yourself, you realize this right?

Not suspicious. Perhaps... resigned.

To what? You're involved in these kinds of things often?

Less often now than a year ago, but yes.

...And do you take any responsibility for that? If you don't like it then don't put yourself in those situations! I was all over you! --Oh, God... Aren't you supposed to be with Kayashima? Don't do things that could be misinterpreted, it's not respectful.

What would you have me do, Master Senri?

['Master' is suspicious]

If someone is hanging off of you and showering you with affection but you do not... return their... their...

Just don't do things that could be misinterpreted, as I said.

...

I did not want to hurt you. That is... and I do enjoy your company, and wish to be your friend.

In this one very isolated instance, it's not my opinion that matters. Right? Wouldn't Kayashima be upset?

You need boundaries.

Taiki understands my intentions, and, for whatever reason, trusts me.

...This may be so, yes.

Shockingly, while Camp occasionally tricks humans into pursuing me, I very rarely have to concern myself with telling them I am unavailable.

But very rarely these occasions do come up and so you should probably... do it. Instead of taking them back to your ship. It's not nice to falsely encourage that type of thing -- honesty is better.

Were your feelings genuine, I would have. I have tried honesty in the past, and it has not...

Well. It has not worked.
