[Today in the mess hall, there are sick kids trying to act like they definitely aren't sick. More specifically, a teenage boy who's half-asleep over a table (this is totally normal behavior) with a box of tissues next to him (it's a coincidence!) and a preteen who's struggling to walk at even a sluggish pace and yet also coughing at super speed

Why are they so stubborn about being sick? What happens to sick people here?

Nothing, really. We've got medicine, and they can go to the hospital if it gets really bad. Brianna's just used to looking after herself, and Julian is naturally stubborn like that. They'll get over it. I can port them back to their rooms when they're ready.

Walking around in the middle of a crowded public eating space when you're that sick isn't looking after yourself.
